ARC Review Enamored: Book Two in the Enslaved Trilogy (Enslaved Trilogy #2) by Shoshanna Evers

The second original eBook in the red-hot Enslaved trilogy begins with a dangerous bet that turns good friends into exquisite lovers. Marc and Lauren have been friend for over 5 years now and have feeling for each other but as they are both the Dominant that doesn't lend itself to any kind of relationship. Fellow BAD boy Roman suggests to Marc that Lauren my have some latent sub tenancies and may be a switch (even if only for him) and gives Marc the idea of winning a bet to prove it to her.

Enamored has less of a dark BDSM edge to it than Enslaved but has more romance and plenty of hot sexy scenes. We learn of the motivations and the pasts from Marc and Lauren and really feel like you get to know the characters. Ms Evers does a fantastic job of tying the books together and keeping the sexual tension going. We are introduced to may aspects of the BDSM lifestyle in a fun, sexy and positive light as well as being entertained and given a wonderful HEA. I can't wait to get my hands on the final book in the trilogy and see where life and love takes Roman.

ARC Review: Enslaved (Enslaved Trilogy #1) by Shoshanna Evers

In Enslaved we are introduced the the 3 über wealthy men that make up the BAD boys (Billionaire Arrogant Doms), Trevor the hero of Enslaved has been married and failed to be able to adjust his BDSM needs with that of his very vanilla now ex-wife. Trevor is introduced to Elisabeth, a girl who grew up in the projects, by her former master who has uncollared her and is embracing his homosexuality.

While Enslaved is not an extremely long book it manages to create characters with depth and give them background. The BDSM world that Trevor and Elisabeth participate in is detailed and intense. Ms. Evers does a fantastic job of presenting both points of view and allows you to empathize or even sympathize (depends on YOUR kink) with the hero and heroine. We are also treated to a wonderful cast of secondary characters that will be involved in future books.

If you like your BDSM a little on the intense side and while still getting your happy ever after then Enslaved is a book you will enjoy a great deal.

Fetish box is a serialized novel in 3 parts, they must be read in order and all must be red to complete the story.

One of the opening lines in Fetish Box is "A virgin shouldn't own a sex shop" what a great premise to start a book with. Mary inherits The Fetish Box or The Box as the locals call it when the mother she had never met dies and leave it to her, along with a collection of unusual friends that are more like a family and a start to a new life.
Mary leads a journey of self discovery as well as a sexual awakening and finds love in the process, all the while dealing with a mystery attacker who has hurt her and her friends.

I loved the idea of this book, I liked the characters and felt they were pretty well developed if not fully explored in this format and length of book, I found the mystery/suspenseful element to be a bit predictable and it seemed almost an add in to create one more point of interest instead of being integral to the story. Some of the sex was well done and other parts felt a bit awkward and forced. Overall I liked the book, I liked the story it had great promise it just pans out as average however.

I enjoyed the story line of this novel telling the often intertwining stories of both sisters and the three men who would be their husbands. You love to hate the girls mother because she doesn't seem to care about the girls or the feelings they have she is more about position and prestige. I felt this was a historic romance where the heroine(s) are given a more modern way of thinking so if that is a turn off for you be aware. That being the case Ms. Macnamara tells a good story with a splash of steam and a plot that twists and turns but in the end it ends up where you expected it would.

A Love Untamed is the 7th book in the Feral Warrior series, it was released just a few days ago on December 26th. If you are looking for a great paranormal romance series this is a great one to read, I would suggest however that you start at the beginning and not here at #7 :O)

Pamela Palmer shows off her talent at world building in A Love Untamed as well as her ability to take a somewhat unlovable character and turn them into the romantic heroine of her book. Melisande makes a return appearance as said heroine in A Love Untamed. We are given background into why Melisande is the way she is. I was able to get past my dislike of her from previous books and was able to embrace her as the damaged soul that Ms. Palmer shows her to be.

Fox or Kieran before he became the Fox Feral Warrior, is a player big time. Kieran has seen love come to nothing but pain for those involved and he wants nothing to do with it. Prior to being marked as the Fox shifter he worked as a trainer with the Therian Guard and is able to take on his role at Feral House with little fuss.

The problem arises when the 17 trapped shifter spirits mark Therian's and what seems to be a gift turns out to be a trap used by the Mage, they have infected the new Feral's with dark magic and are using them against the original Feral Warriors. We are soon taken into a strange world of magic, attraction and hidden pain when Lyon's mate the Feral's Radiant is kidnapped and Fox and Melisande end up working together to return her.

Ms. Palmer touches on some very real issues that people who have been assaulted face and I find the way she has Fox work with Mel to get past the destructive feelings and the distrust she has is done well. The sexual tension builds but the overall heat or sex scenes if you will are not really explicit, the romance is there but the sex scenes come across to me as hurried and unnecessary. I think that perhaps in an effort to not break the flow and tension of the rescue of Kara they were kept short however I would have liked a little bit more when it came to these scenes so they didn't feel like they were just shoved in.

I enjoyed A Love Untamed a great deal, even when I started out skeptical of Melisande being the romantic heroine.
I give this 4 out of 5 flowers

ARC Review Wyoming Bride: A Bitter Creek Novel by Joan Johnston

Hannah and her two sisters are so anxious to leave the orphanage where they live in Chicago that they concoct an outrageous escape plan. Hannah becomes a mail order bride, wedding an Irish man who whisks them off onto the Oregon trail. That means that she is the one to bite the bullet and become a mail-order-bride herself to a man who is headed to the Wyoming Territory.

As much as Wyoming Bride is about Hannah and the man who saves her on the prairie, Flint, it is also about Flint's brother Ransom and the girl he is engaged to Emaline. When Flint finds Hannah near death on the prairie after her escape from a Sioux ambush it is an answer to his problems. Flint's younger brother has just become engaged to the woman that Flint is in love with, Emaline. Flint feels he needs to marry quickly to put a buffer between himself and the happy couple because they share a house.

Being a history geek I love a historical romance that uses a lot of historic bits of fact thrown in, I was thrilled with all of the history that Ms. Johnson was able to include while still making this a fantastic story that doesn't feel like a history text ever. The love stories between Hannah and Flint and Ransom and Emaline are well developed never rushed and I felt accurately depicted as much as possible for the time period. I loved Hannah and wanted to slap Flint upside the head a few times but grew to love him too. Ransom is the hotheaded younger brother and Emaline while sweet her fear of childbirth while understandable got to be a bit repetitive.

Over all this is a great historic read set in the American West, it is a great love story with likable characters, plenty of ties to the first book as well as teasers to the coming books and enough history to keep even a geek like me happy.
