Caridad, thanks for being on My Reading Obsession today. I meet you last year at the Baltimore Book Festival and I loved to books you shared with us there. I went home and had to bulk up my library with several Caridad Pineiro works.

You have written erotic, paranormal and suspense books, do you have a favorite genre?
That’s a tough choice! I really love books that have a combination of all three more than anything, although I lean toward liking paranormal suspense the best.

Tell us a little about Born to Serve.
BORN TO SERVE is the first book in the relaunched THE CALLING vampire series which is becoming THE REBORN vampire novel series. Fans who love kick ass FBI Agent Diana Reyes and Southern gentleman vampire Ryder Latimer will love seeing what happens with them as they fight for a happily-ever-after. It’s an emotionally charged, action-packed story and I think readers will love it!

Have you always wanted to be a writer or were you surprised by it?
I was always an avid reader, but didn’t think about being a writer until the fifth grade when I had to write a book for a class project. After that first book, I knew I wanted to be a writer.

You have done a lot to help the clean up effort in New Jersey after hurricane Sandy, how is that going?
I have done a number of things as has my family. I’ve been sharing photos so people can see how things are getting better on my part of the Shore. Little by little things are being rebuilt and we’re hopeful that by the summer, the public areas will be ready for use. In other parts of NJ as well as New York, it will take longer for all the damage to be repaired and for people’s lives to get back to normal.

In the meantime, I will keep on spreading the word about helping to rebuild, lend a hand in whatever way I can and pray for those who have been impacted by the storm.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5, 10 years?
I would like to see myself getting up every morning to write and then taking a long stroll along the boardwalk. Maybe walking to my daughter’s surf and skate shop and then coming back home to spend time with my hubby before sitting down to write again!

Fun questions
coke or pepsi?
Dr. Pepper.

Robert Downy Jr or Johnny Depp?
Robert Downey.

e-book or paperback?
Paperback for sure. I love to crack the spines.

sun or snow?
SUN SUN SUN. I am so not a snow person.

plain or peanut m&m's?
Plain for me.

Thank you so much for the interview and letting me visit!

Hereafter (Hauntings at Inner Harbor, Book 1) by Joya Fields

Looking for the Heartbreaker Blog hop, HERE

When by-the-numbers accountant Rob Morrison, a skeptic of all things paranormal, moves into a new apartment and discovers it is haunted by the corporeal ghost of a beautiful woman, he must hastily reconsider his beliefs and revisit his painful past.

With no memory of her time on earth, Angie Barsotti doesn’t understand why she’s compelled to visit the same apartment every night as a ghost caught between two worlds. If she’s to have a chance to move on, she needs to find the missing pieces of her life and death through the man who lives there…if only he’d believe in her.

Together they struggle to find the truth about her death and stumble upon a very pleasurable way to time travel, hopeful they can prevent her death. But someone doesn’t want them to discover the truth. And if she’s human again, will she have any memories of her time as a ghost…and more importantly, will she remember the man who helped her find her way?

With a new spin on paranormal romance Hereafter by Joya Fields is not your everyday ghost story.
Rob who was a one time believer in ghosts has since lost that belief through tragedy, Angie only know the quiet peaceful place and the apartment she doesn't know why she goes to.

With one of the most inventive modes of time travel I have ever read Angie and Rob travel back to find the truth about her death and fall in love in the process. How can it possibly work out when Rob is in love with a ghost. The flames between Rob and Angie is quick to ignite and increase to a blazing inferno by the end of the book.

A fairly quick read, that is fun and while paranormal it is paranormal "light", contemporary with a paranormal twist. I enjoyed Hereafter and am looking forward to more in the Hauntings at Inner Harbor series.
