Keisha is a neurobiology researcher determined to discover the secret to intelligence to save humanity from itself. What she learns leads her to realize a bigger threat comes from beyond the stars. Yuri is a Russian vampire whose long-dead feelings respond to the scientist whose brain he admires but whose curves he can't resist. Will his love reach the places in her heart that she has ignored for so long? And can they defeat the prophecy of the undead to find happiness sharing eternity?

Prophecy of the Undead is a paranormal romance with just a splash of sci-fi, makes it sound like a mixed drink :O)
Keisha is scary smart and the only one in her family to graduate from high school let alone go to college. She spends her time researching the organic source of intelligence, this brings her to the attention of Yuri a 100 year old vampire who is looking for the elements that make vampires what they are.

This fast paced novel takes us into the unique world of vampires created by Ms. McGier and her world where vampires are the descendants of the Mayan who were created by aliens from a planet that only passes Earth every 5000 years. While all of this could be confusing it is well written enough that it is not. The characters are well defined and the motives of each is also readily understood.

Keisha takes to her new life with very little fuss and Yuri is head over heals in love with her almost immediately. We also meet several other vampires of varying ages backgrounds and sexual preferences. The sex is often and slightly steamy. I found it interesting that intelligence and vampire-ism could be defined by science and it was a whole new twist on the origins of the vampire.

I think you will enjoy Prophecy of the Undead if you are not a traditionalist about your vampires.

  1. Thanks for the kind words, Carin. I've always liked vampire romance but never wanted to write about yet another tortured soul waiting to meet his long-awaited mate, who turns out to be a high school student or some other kind of ingenue. I write intelligent alpha females and the men who fall in love with them, who then have to convince the female to pay attention to them. Not everyone's cup of tea, but what the voices in my head tell me to write! Thanks again.
