The Reluctant Santa is a charming contemporary romance set during the Christmas season.

Colin McDermott is a driven successful salesman for a medical software company who in order to achieve his goal of Western sales manager has a month to out sell his closest competitor in the office.

Brooke is in the accounting department for a small hospital in the Denver area. She dated Colin in college and ran home to her family when she found out she was pregnant. Never telling Colin, who had stated adamantly when asked that he never wanted children, that she was pregnant with his child.

On top of the romance and drama of Colin and Brooke we have the side story of Devon, the devil's angel who needs at least one more soul to make his quota and Gabriella a heavenly angel who's job it is to comfort and guide people and try to prevent Devon from leading people astray.

I thought this was a cute Christmas time read, the idea of finding an old flame 6 years later is something that most people have thought of but when that person doesn't know they are a parent that makes it a bit more difficult. I thought the story was well written with a little bit of steam to it. I really liked Colin and could relate to him and his position, on the other had I had a hard time liking Brooke I thought she was selfish and a childish on a lot of occasions. The secondary characters were all wonderful and Olivia the daughter steals the show as far as I am concerned. It's a fairly short novel so its a good Saturday afternoon read. I say enjoy a before Christmas present to your self :O)
