Infinite possibilities….
Infinite passion…..
Infinite danger….
His touch spirals through me, warm and sweet, wicked and hot. I shouldn’t trust him. I shouldn’t tell him my secrets. But how do I not when he is the reason I breath? He is what I need.
At the young age of eighteen, tragedy and a dark secret force Lara to flee all she has known and loves to start a new life. Now years later, with a new identity as Amy, she’s finally dared to believe she is forgotten–even if she cannot forget. But just when she lets down her guard down, the ghost’s of her past are quick to punish her, forcing her back on the run.
On a plane, struggling to face the devastation of losing everything again and starting over, Amy meets Liam Stone, a darkly entrancing recluse billionaire, who is also a brilliant, and famous, prodigy architect. A man who knows what he wants and goes after it. And what he wants is Amy. Refusing to take “no” as an answer, he sweeps her into a passionate affair, pushing her to her erotic limits. He wants to possess her. He makes her want to be possessed. Liam demands everything from her, accepting nothing less. But what if she is too devastated by tragedy to know when he wants more than she should give? And what if there is more to Liam than meets the eyes?

Escaping Reality is book one of The Secret Life of Amy Bensen series it does have a cliffhanger ending but don't let that deter you from getting this book the day it comes out.

Lisa Renee Jones writes a gripping story that is loaded with mystery, suspense and sex lots of sex ;O) It is written in first person narrative which I normally can't abide however Ms. Jones makes this work to heighten the drama and suspense.
The story of "Amy" unfolds and we are given more details about her past and what she is running from throughout the story. We also have a sexy enigmatic billionaire in Liam and a host of other secondary characters all of whom may or may not be what they seem.

The sexual tension between Amy and Liam starts from almost the very beginning and explodes all over the place in a variety of steamy encounters but is Amy letting her heart rule her head? I am looking forward to the rest of this story when the second installment comes out.

Fast cars and a smokin' hot passion...

Rex intends to own and drive his own car, but that will cost him millions up front. Last season was a disaster, thanks to a nasty break up, but it taught him a lesson and helped sharpen his focus on what he needed to do: Win every race. And stay away from pretty girls. The last thing he needed was to learn that his new head mechanic, Jimmy James, was the gorgeous redhead pin-up walking around his pit like it was some kind of dance floor.

Gail "Jimmy" James is the first female NASCAR mechanic. As if competing in a man's world isn't tough enough, her bombshell figure bellies her genius IQ, and the pit is no place for either. Nothing Jimmy knew about Rex Henderson the driver prepared her for Rex Henderson the man. But Jimmy has no time to dwell on her feelings as strange mechanical problems curse Rex's car. Whether sabotage or her own mistakes, Jimmy must stay one step ahead of trouble if she's going to keep her job, and keep her driver alive...

 photo Review.jpg

Being the first female chief mechanic for a NASCAR team has its good side and its bad just ask Gail "Jimmy" James. With bad things happening to the car she is working on and later threats it's enough to make a girl wonder if she is paranoid or if someone is really out to get her.

Rex Henderson is less than thrilled when he finds out his new mechanic Jimmy is female, it doesn't hurt that she turns him on from the second he laid eyes on her. Now it looks like someone is after Jimmy and has sabotaged to his car on a couple of occasions.

This has a good story to it , I like the suspenseful/mystery elements to it as well. The sexual tension is high but not a ton of actual sex scenes in here, however enough to make it a little steamy. The hardest part of this book for me is it is FILLED with technical NASCAR speak and as someone who has never watched a race in my life I was lost. I am sure if you have a passing knowledge of NASCAR you will appreciate this far more than I did.

Lover Undercover (Love Undercover #1) by Samanthe Beck *A NetGalley Review*

He’s undercover. She’s in over her head.

Yoga instructor Kylie Roberts is the good twin. At least she was—until an accident forces Kylie to step into her twin’s sexy stilettos at a posh Hollywood “men’s club." But nothing could've prepared Kylie for the dead body in the club’s parking lot or the ridiculously hot detective who insists the killer is targeting her regulars.

Detective Trevor McCade needs Kylie’s help to draw out the killer. It means long nights undercover and long dances where Kylie’s body tempts him with sensual promises. Dances that leave them both wanting more. But despite Kylie's hidden identity and the danger lurking in the shadows, it’s only a matter of time before Kylie and Trevor take this undercover operation under the covers…

 photo Review.jpg

As a kid who didn't want a twin who could take your place when you needed it? Well Kylie is a bit of a spot when her sister is injured and can't dance so Kylie has to take her place at the "gentlemen's club" that she works at so they can pay the bills. How was she to know her sister was the center of a police undercover operation.

Trevor's job is to hang around the strip club where a killer has struck and see if he can't draw the person out. When he meets Kylie she is at once a mystery and a fantasy. Can he catch the killer before Kylie's identity is found out and the killer gets away.

My first love in reading was mysteries so when I can find a good suspenseful mystery mixed with a blazing hot erotic romance I am in heaven. Lover Undercover has Kylie pretending to be a stripper, Trevor pretending to be a customer and somewhere a killer pretending to be a normal person. Since a good portion of the book takes place in a strip joint you know it is going to be an over 18 story as well and Ms. Beck delivers with some scenes that are so steamy you will need to sit in front of the air conditioner or hop in a cold shower.

Forbidden Fires (Bondage & Breakfast #3) by Jodie Griffin

A year ago, Detective Delia Robinson and Fire Marshal Colin Butler got up close and personal while working a case. But their sizzling relationship didn’t last. Now there’s a serial arsonist on the loose, and it’s up to Delia and Colin to bring him down—if they can resist their attraction long enough to concentrate on the investigation.

Delia quickly sees the connection between the crime scenes: elements of BDSM. Though she denies it, Colin is stunned by the realization that his former lover is aroused by the idea of bondage play. And suddenly he can’t stop fantasizing about being the one to bind her…

Unsure how Colin would react, Delia never revealed her desire to be dominated in the bedroom. But she’ll finally have the chance to find out when they go deep undercover—as a married couple at a B&B offering classes in domination and submission…

 photo Review.jpg

Forbidden Fires is book #3 in the Bondage & Breakfast series by Jodie Griffin, it is written as a stand alone story so it can be read as such but I always recommend reading them in order(just my OCD talking)

In Forbidden Fires we get a love story with BDSM elements and we also get the suspense of a good mystery while we are at it in a moderate sized book. The characters come at the plot in a unique was the heroine is a police officer, not someone you would think of as a submissive and the Hero doesn't realize he has Dom tendencies. The first time Delia and Colin were involved it was hot but they weren't together long enough for Delia to reveal her desire to be a sub now she is drawn back into a case with Colin and it has a BDSM connection.

I enjoyed the heroine being almost an alpha dom in her job and a natural sub in her relationship with Colin, I loved Colin he was so turned on and so bemused by it. I thought the mystery/suspense part of the book was well done and that the sex scenes were HOT. We don't get deep into the BDSM scene its an aspect of the over all love story and mystery but it isn't dark or intense as both are beginners to the "scene".

About this Author:Jodie Griffin has always been a reader, but she didn't always want to be a writer. She'd spend hours reading, but school papers were written one painful word at a time, and never over required word count. Then, one ordinary day, something changed. A story idea came, demanding to be put on paper. She resisted at first, but the wicked muse refused to leave her alone. After several years of practice, she took the leap and submitted her first story - and hasn't looked back since.

Jodie loves chocolate, happily-ever-afters, and alliterative titles, and needs more hours in every day. She writes naughty tales about nice girls & the men who love them.

Flying in Shadows (Black Creek #2) by R.T. Wolfe

Looking for the Kilted Desire hop? HERE

From the time she was a little girl, Rose Piper was sure of two things: she wanted to work with animals and she wanted to win the heart of her best friend, Andy Reed.

Now the most sought-after conservation biologist in the Northeast, she's trying to convince herself that one out of two isn't bad.

Andy spent most of his life following his dream of becoming a builder. Now a successful land developer, he has returned to Black Creek to win the girl he has loved since high-school and hurt too many times: Rose

But efforts to keep their love together turn dangerous when a decades-old secret brings a murderer out of hiding, sending the pair running for their lives.

 photo Review.jpg

Flying in Shadows is the fantastic second book in the Black Creek series by R.T. Wolfe. While this is the second in the series it can be read as a stand alone, taking place over many years and while the hero & heroine of Flying in Shadow are secondary characters in Black Creek Burning this is a complete and separate story.

R.T. Wolfe set a pretty high bar with her first in the Black Creek series,Black Creek Burning, Flying in Shadow does not disappoint this is romantic suspense the way it should be done. Following Andy (one of the nephews from Black Creek Burning) and Rose (the neighbor girl from Black Creek Burning) from the time they are 10 and 11 into adulthood this story spans many years and their lives from childhood best friends to finding love and dealing with a danger from Rose's past that could become a deadly problem for their future.

Flying in Shadow is equal parts romance and suspense with plenty of sexual tension and a few love scenes that are extremely well written without being explicit. We are treated to enough back story, secondary plots and tidbits that hint at what could be future stories that this is a rich tapestry of love, life and the element of danger all while making sure you want to read the entire series. With this book as well as the first I was unable to put it down, reading this in one sitting from beginning to end.

I don't give out a lot of 5 flower reviews because that says I liked this so much that I would re-read it, something I don't often do with books. Flying in Shadow is one of those books that was so well written and so griping that I would re-read it and I wait not so patiently for the next installment.

About this author
R.T. was born and raised in the Midwest, the youngest of six children. She married at a young age and decided early on she wanted a family herself. With three small boys in tow, she and her husband flipped two houses with R.T. in charge of the landscape design and install. Now, she is rooted in the final home they designed inside and out.

Now that her boys are nearly grown, R.T. spends much of her time on the road traveling from one sporting event to another serving as mom and cheerleader. When at home, she enjoys Pilates, working with her Golden Retriever and digging in the glorious dirt of her landscaping plots.

During one of many busy and restless nights, R.T.’s first novel began to pluck its way onto her laptop. It was a drug, an instant addiction that only grew with time. Moments borrowed and stolen at her laptop are, now, between all of the travel and work and many of those busy, restless nights.

Fetish Box (parts 1,2 & 3) by Nicole Camden

Virginal twenty-two-year-old Mary has just inherited a sex shop in Florida from her mother. After a long drive from California, she arrives at her deceased mother’s house only to be confronted immediately with two equally sexy strangers: the strong, silent John and the irreverent, taunting Max. She’s innocent, almost completely untouched, but feels a completely uncharacteristic pull to each man. Shocking even herself, she realizes it’s not an unwelcome desire.

Max is a playboy who knows how to give women what they want, but John… John might just be able to give Mary something even she doesn’t know she needs

Mary is surprised by the deep feelings that follow in the wake of her first sexual encounter, but fascination with her lover John doesn’t dim her desire for the unapologetically lusty Irish bar-owner, Max. Feeding one hunger has unleashed other needs, and Mary wants to experience everything her new life has to offer.

But Mary’s dark desires aren’t the only ones swirling in the depths of The Fetish Box, and violence erupts amid the passion. When one of the men is attacked and the people at The Box put in danger, Mary realizes that some desires are more dangerous than other

In an attempt to seek out the source of the violence against her friends, Mary takes on a role she’d never imagined she’d play—a role that requires Mary to embrace the darkest parts of her soul.

For the first time in her life, Mary understands who she is and where she belongs. What remains when you take away the sex and fun and adventure…is love. Love for her new friends, love for her lover, and love for the mother she never knew. She’s willing to risk anything—do anything—to keep them safe

 photo Review.jpg

Fetish box is a serialized novel in 3 parts, they must be read in order and all must be red to complete the story.

One of the opening lines in Fetish Box is "A virgin shouldn't own a sex shop" what a great premise to start a book with. Mary inherits The Fetish Box or The Box as the locals call it when the mother she had never met dies and leave it to her, along with a collection of unusual friends that are more like a family and a start to a new life.
Mary leads a journey of self discovery as well as a sexual awakening and finds love in the process, all the while dealing with a mystery attacker who has hurt her and her friends.

I loved the idea of this book, I liked the characters and felt they were pretty well developed if not fully explored in this format and length of book, I found the mystery/suspenseful element to be a bit predictable and it seemed almost an add in to create one more point of interest instead of being integral to the story. Some of the sex was well done and other parts felt a bit awkward and forced. Overall I liked the book, I liked the story it had great promise it just pans out as average however.
