Before kids and the responsibility of life, Levi and I shared a spontaneous, erotic, and deliciously deviant marriage. But the years transformed what we had into something comfortable and worn. It hurts me to think his desire for me has cooled. I miss that look of his. Slightly evil and totally hot, like he wanted to devour me. Haven’t seen it in ages.

When I first married Mia, she submitted to every one of my erotic needs. Then came the children. With little complaint, I abandoned my pursuit of kink, content to be married to a beautiful, intelligent woman who’s a great mother to our twins. Out of the blue, Mia confesses she misses the intimacy in our marriage, misses the sex. After this enticing revelation, my plan to reconnect with her unfolds.

In our secret, kinky, Friday afternoon meetings I’m going to give her everything she wants and take everything I need. Will this be the answer to fixing our marriage?
Warning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains explicit sex scenes and/or situations (including BDSM/light bondate) and adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.

Excerpt:

After all these years of sex being an afterthought, first for her and then, because of the gradual acceptance of how things were, for me, too, I’d stopped looking a long time ago for the signs and signals indicating Mia might be interested in returning back to sexual practices we shared before the twins were born.

Early on in our marriage, our love was incandescent, glowing hot and bright. Mia was the sun and, to my eyes, everything else paled to a dull gray in comparison to the vivid elation life held when she was near.

Our sex was explosive. With her, I felt completely safe exposing my somewhat shady and highly explicit sexual needs. She blindly followed my lead headlong into questionable and kinky practices, always open to anything I introduced to her.

Shit, my cock gets hard just remembering it. I stop to adjust myself before returning to my snow removal.
I smile at the memories rising to the conscious part of my brain. She was the perfect woman for
me. But it was never the same between us after the girls were born. At first I waited, holdingback and ignoring our sexual needs. Mia barely kept her head above water with twins and a fulltime job. Back then I paid close attention, looking for any indication she was ready, anticipating the moment we’d return to the sizzling lust once burning between us.

I never saw it.
With our new family, the dynamics within our home changed. The balance of power between Mia and I shifted. She was “in charge” of the kids, the home and by default, our sex life. She had a lot on her plate. Then the months stacked and became years. After so much time of almost nonexistent in quantity and vanilla in quality sex, I stopped looking for the signs we’d ever return. The little sex we’ve had since the twins were born hasn’t held my attention much, and I stopped wondering if she cared years ago. After years of withstanding the bubbling need to dominate Mia like I used to,

the urge gradually faded.
I stop pushing the heavy, wet snow and lean against the shovel to catch my breath. The warm air from my lungs creates wispy clouds as I exhale hard fast breaths. I take a moment to experience the wonder of the utterly black sky dotted with stars and the silent peace of the moment. I love Mia and I’ve never cheated. But I’ve thought about it. Only someone with the knowledge
of what it feels like to live this way for a long time can come to understand the thought processes of people who are unfaithful to their spouses. My guess is most of the time, the cheater loves their partner. They only do it for the thrill, the excitement of new sex with a new person. It’s the anticipation of the forbidden act, the rush of brushing bare skin against someone new, the
desperate I-can’t-wait-to-fuck-you kisses as clothes fly off and bodies surge toward the bed that captures a person’s interest.

I grip the handle to my shovel and begin pushing snow again. Now she’s ready. It’s time to take back my role within our marriage.
This is it. It’s my time. No, it’s our time again after so many years. I’m going to do everything possible to be the man I long to be both in and out of the bedroom. I feel twenty-five again. I savor the power rushing through me at remembering the slow progression of Mia’s training all those years ago. It’s potent. Jesus. The comfortable mental slip back into that man feels totally natural. I recognize, maybe with the first truly clear head I’ve had on this subject for years, precisely how stunted we’ve become. There’s nobody to blame but me. She took on so much. The least I could have done was ensure we didn’t land here, where we are today. I push my last strip of snow and walk back toward the house, drawing in a clean breath of air and blowing it out.

It feels like I’ve been freed.
I’m going to give her everything she wants, and take everything I need.

Copyright 2013 Rose Wynters

Her body was mouth wateringly gorgeous, but painfully thin. He walked closer to her, his eyes quickly scanning each injury. She was covered in scratches, cuts, welts, and bruises. They were fully setting in, and he knew they would look much worse before ever looking better. He growled when he saw the fingertip bruises on her throat.
“He choked you?” He enunciated each word, anger making his tone thick and dangerous, even to his own ears. He wasn’t sure why he felt so overwhelmingly protective over her, but something about her made him extremely possessive. It was a foreign emotion, and one he wasn’t quite sure how to handle.
Her slender hand moved up to her throat gently, her painted red nails erotic against the pale skin. “He must have. It all happened so fast. All I know is that I fought hard to get away from him.” Her hazel eyes shut briefly as she inhaled, struggling for control.
She was so damned delicate he couldn’t believe she had walked away from her encounter. Her fragile state reminded him of her mortality, and it angered him. He shoved a hand through his hair infrustration.
“Why in the hell are you so damn thin? Are you sick, or have you been dieting?” He spat the last word out at her, as she pulled the towel free from her hair to comb through the silky strands.
He suspected it was the latter, and he couldn’t understand why women were so obsessed with it. She was so damned beautiful, exuding a raw sexuality that was making the caveman in him roar to life.
Desperately he fought the sensual weave she was unconsciously weaving, but it was a battle he waslosing fast.
“You look like death, and you’re way too slender. You’re lucky to still be alive.”
She narrowed her eyes at him, as a look of irritation and something unidentifiable flickered across her
face. Her arms crossed across her chest before she briefly looked away, her cheeks pink. When she
turned back to him, she was completely in control.“Get laid much, Peter? If that’s your approach, I’m surprised you aren’t a virgin. My weight isn’t any of your business, so butt out. Besides, men love my body.”
He growled, enraged at the thought of another man seeing her. She’d just waved a red flag in front of this bull, and it was a challenge he wouldn’t back down from. When he spoke, his voice was deathly quiet and cold as ice. “Really? Let a lot of them see it, huh?”
She flushed, but didn’t back down. “What’s it to you, one way or another?” “Nothing,” he responded, his face serious and his voice harsh with lust. “It was nothing to me before tonight. That was before you walked into my bedroom naked, your body begging for this hard shaft between my legs. While you’re in here, you won’t be talking or even thinking about other men. You’ll
be too busy thinking about me, feeling me, as I bring that sweet area between your legs pleasure like it
has never known before… Or will again.”

Growing up without a mother, Melissa has always felt different. Now in her 30s, and plodding along in her failing relationship with Tom, she begins dreaming of Kellen; confident, strong, everything her heart desires. But though these dreams feel more real than reality, Melissa knows it’s fantasy–Kellen’s tribe live in the forest, and he doesn’t call her by her real name, but another: Nyssa.

When Kellen steps out of her dreams and into her life, she feels that her wishes have come true–especially when he reveals he knows about her mother. Kellen has always known about Nyssa. Like her mother, Kellen is one of the Fae, the man Nyssa would have been joined with had her mother not run off to the mortal realm with a human lover. With strife brewing in the Faery Realm, Kellen visits Nyssa in her dreams, knowing her return will prevent tragedy.

Convincing her she has faery blood turns out to be easier than Kellen imagined, especially when Nyssa remembers those awful conversations with her father, about a mother who was ‘different’. But Kellen fails to tell her everything, risking not only their growing relationship, but the peace of all the Faery Folk.

Excerpt:
“Do you think you could drive?” Tom asked when they got back to the car. “I’m exhausted.” Without waiting for an answer he climbed into the passenger side, tilted the seat back, and closed his eyes.

Perhaps I’m being foolish, Melissa thought, watching him. Maybe I should be happy with what I’ve got, and not expect a fairy tale. She felt a twinge of sorrow about the situation. But his day had worn her out. This time away was supposed to be their chance to reconnect. He had begged her for it, the chance to reignite their relationship. But all he’d managed to do was show Melissa he did not want to face their issues any more than she did.

They arrived back at the campsite at dusk, Tom feigning sleep the whole way, Melissa exhausted.

“Who’s that?” Melissa noticed the car first, and just behind it, another tent set up opposite their own.

As they got out of the car, a young woman emerged from the tent, a bright smile on her face.

“Hi,” she said. “I guess this is your campsite?”

“Uh, yeah,” Tom answered.

“Sorry to barge in on you, but we couldn’t find anywhere else to camp, and your tent looked lonely.” She laughed. Tom and Melissa managed a weak smile.

“I’m Nerida by the way.” She held out her hand and in the glow from the fire Melissa thought the other woman looked familiar.

“Melissa,” she shook Nerida’s hand. “And this is Tom.”

Nerida turned back to the fire. “We’ve got some left over fish if you’d like some? Cooked up too much.”

“Thanks, we’ve eaten,” Tom replied.

A movement in Nerida’s tent caused Melissa and Tom to turn as one.

Melissa gasped, heart pounding as a familiar figure emerged from the tent, a figure she had seen so often in her dreams. She felt the spark between them the moment his eyes met hers.

“This is my brother Kellen.” Nerida said over her shoulder, apparently unaware of the chemistry. Melissa fought to keep from fainting.

Tom stepped forward and put out his hand to shake Kellen’s.

“Tom,” he said. He took a step back and placed the same arm protectively around Melissa. “And this is my partner…”

“Nyssa, right?” Kellen smiled and Melissa felt her knees go weak. “I heard from inside.” The desire on his face was clear as his eyes wandered the length of her body.

“Actually it’s MEL-issa.” Tom frowned.

“We were surprised to find anyone else here,” Kellen said, shooting Tom a winning smile before returning his gaze to Melissa. “They say this is a weak spot, one of the points where the fair folk have a doorway – giving them access to this world, and of course us access to theirs.” Melissa turned her attention back to the fire, forcing them to break eye contact, though she couldn’t help but sneak glances as he spoke. She felt her face flush with the heat of his attention, his gaze a tangible weight on her skin. Tom must’ve noticed, moving her to the opposite side of the flames.

“So you’re saying that we shouldn’t camp here, because the fairies might come through?” he said with a scoff.

“No,” Kellen said, finally taking his eyes from Melissa to look at Tom. “I am saying it’s what the locals say. No one said not to camp here; they said they wouldn’t recommend it.” He stopped and glanced at Nerida, laughing. “But when we saw your tent we thought we’d stop anyway, safety in numbers, hey.” He finished the sentence with a smirk on his face, and Melissa wasn’t sure if he was joking or serious. She closed her eyes. Just because he is identical to the man from my dreams doesn’t mean he is that same man, and even if he is, I am with Tom. But for how long? The voice came unbidden but she could not ignore it. She glanced at Tom and he turned as though he felt her gaze, and smiled. He was a good man. He told her often he loved her, and didn’t seem bothered she rarely replied in kind. The guilt tore at her. How could she end things and hurt him? Maybe passion was a fantasy out of romance stories, and she was thinking of throwing away a good relationship based on the desire for something which may only exist in her dreams. But he’s here, he’s real! Once again she felt Kellen’s gaze, the warmth of it bringing her body to life. She glanced back at him and a thrill travelled her spine and she shivered.

High-flying executive Caroline and barrister Robert have been married for three years, and the demands of work have left little time for their relationship. Caroline is angling for a promotion, which will mean spending more time away in Germany. On a management development course in Spain, Caroline is tempted into indiscretions with some of her colleagues, a fact that is noticed by course leader and former chief executive Melody Bigger.

Melody sees in Caroline aspects of her younger self and a barely suppressed exhibitionism. She draws Caroline into a plot to put pressure on Von Wolfswinkle, the German delegate to the European Central Bank. His opposition to Eurobonds is causing hardship across southern Europe, and Caroline is inveigled into a peculiar relationship with Von Wolfswinkle based on his voyeurism and her exhibitionism. Melody wants Caroline to influence the banker’s recommendations to the forthcoming European economic summit.

As Caroline is drawn into a seedy world of private parties for bankers and politicians, she soon realises she has damaged her reputation and her marriage. How will she ever be able to face her colleagues and her husband again?

Excerpt:

It is the morning after Caroline’s initiation into the Inner Circle, a secret organisation which provides sex parties for business people, bankers, and politicians.

With the benefit of two more hours sleep, Caroline felt ready to face the world. She helped herself to a healthy breakfast from the buffet: exotic fruits, pain-au-chocolat, and strong black coffee and retreated to a table on the far side of the outdoor terrace to be alone with her thoughts. The blond twins spotted her and dashed over to her table, pulling up an extra bistro chair.

“How are you this bright morning?” asked Natasha.

“It’s really not fair. Your initiation was much more fun than ours,” said Nikita. “All those tongues were amazing, and we loved what you did to that arrogant arsehole the Prince.”

“I’d rather not re-live a blow by blow account right now,” said Caroline.

“Oh, okay. But you will be in Copenhagen for the next event? Now that you’re a full member? We’d love to have some fun with you… and Cosimo.”

“I’m not sure I can make it. It depends on work. I’m trying to land a big new job in the company.”

“Well make sure you get the big job and then you can give us one,” said Nikita. “We’ll go anywhere, do anything.” They looked at each other and laughed.

Caroline looked serious, like a senior executive with major responsibilities. “I have to get some reports finished. I’ll talk to you later on the plane back to Frankfurt.”

Standing up, she took a last sip of coffee and headed to the breakfast room, then through the open French windows back into the hotel grounds. She climbed the steps up to amphitheatre, her eyes trained on the ground. Reaching the stage, she looked around at the tranquil scene which bore no trace of last night’s flickering debauchery.

She saw the tree with a thick branch that the rope had been thrown over and stood underneath it. Lying down on the slabs, she threw an imaginary goblet, got up, and traced its arc to the lavender bed. She remembered the powerful scent. She parted the lavender stalks and there was the trashy goblet she had been drinking from. Picking it up, she looked inside. A small insect crawled drunkenly around in the sticky residue. She checked that no-one was watching her and got down on her hands and knees, carefully searching each plant down to the dry soil.

It was already getting hot and bees were buzzing around her head. Her headache was returning, but still she searched the dense foliage. It wasn’t there. It must have fallen somewhere else. She stood up, her back aching, to return to her room when she spotted a single red flower amongst the heads of lavender only a foot into the flowerbed. She carefully picked the flower and read the label: Sword Blade 32 gigabyte Flash Drive. Made in China.

Now she had the weapon she needed to fight the enemy.

About the Author:
I am mid-thirties, a lawyer, and married (still). Writing is more than a hobby; it’s what keeps me sane because most of my job is boring. I think it must be like being in the army. There are very long periods where nothing happens then suddenly all hell is let loose.

I’ve had a book to do with work published before, and have written columns and features for magazines but my first novel Shameless Ambition was much more fun to write. I can’t really claim credit for the idea. Life provided me with Caroline, my wife. The banking crisis provided the plot. All I had to do was write it down and use my imagination for the parts where Caroline refused to go into details.

Caroline is my inspiration. I hope that doesn’t sound too mushy. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she continues to refuse to read the book. The other characters… let’s say that names have been changed to avoid embarrassment or more work for the legal profession. It was never meant to be published but then someone who had agreed to keep it confidential; didn’t. So it had to be.

Excerpt:

“Shut the front door, you bitch!” Jade was jumping up and down and squealing. Sarah just had this mega watt smile on her face and her eyes were twinkling. “So what, are you guys like a couple or something? Oh my god, this is fucking crazy!”

I stood up and started to pull Jade back down to her seat. “Jade please calm down, we are in the library for goodness sakes.”

The second Jade’s ass touched the seat she jumped back up and started to leave the library. “Jade, where do you think you’re going?”

Jade stopped dead in her tracks and turned around. “Um, what does it look like I’m doing? I’ve never seen pigs fly. I’m just going outside to see what they look like.” With that she turned and walked out of the library.

“Cheese and rice, it’s not that crazy that we’re dating. Is it Sarah?”

Sarah was still smiling at me and I hadn’t seen in her blink in a while so I waved my hand in front of her face. “Sarah, are you ok? Are you broken or something? Do I need to reboot you?”

Sarah laughed and slapped my hand away. “Oh you smartass, I’m fine. I’m just shocked is all and extremely happy. My two best friends are dating. I just can’t wait to help you pick out your wedding gown and throw you the best bachelorette party ever!”

The second I heard the word wedding my stomach dropped and I became speechless.

Sarah waved a hand in front of my face like what she had just said was not that big of a deal. “Oh sweetie, calm down. I’m just kidding around, but honestly, I could see it happening. Don’t worry and don’t you dare let it get to you, ok. Matter of fact, how about you just forget I said anything, ok?”

“Um, yeah. O – Ok.” Like that would happen.

By the time I was done with my internal freak out Jade came back in the room and fell down into her seat. “Well, I missed them. Thanks a lot, Iz. So how amazeballs is he at kissing? Did you instantly orgasm?”

“Oh my gosh Jade, you really are crazy! All I will tell you is that his lips are amazing and his hands are . . .”

“What about my hands, sweetheart?”

My heart sped up and I started to turn around. Maddox was looking down at me with a huge smile on his face and those damn dimples were making a sexy ass appearance. “Um, exactly how much did you hear? And who said I was talking about you, munchkin?”

He started to laugh and bent down and kissed me on the lips. I thought it was going to be a simple peck but he put one of his hands behind my head to deepen the kiss. Then his tongue was in my mouth swirling around with mine and the other was on my hips holding me still. I heard sighs from behind me but I was way too mesmerized by Maddox’s lips. I was hypnotized. I started to put my hands up around his neck to play with his wavy hair but he broke away. His lips moved up into a devilish grin and his eyes sparkled. “So who were you talking about, sweetheart?”

Maddox knew he had me right where he wanted me. I decided to go with the truth and see what he had to say about that. “You. Only you.”

His smile got even bigger and I swear I saw fireworks go off in his eyes. “So you ready to leave? I’m really hungry and am ready to have some dinner.”

“Um yea-” I didn’t get to finish my sentence because Maddox pulled me up over his shoulders and turned to walk away. Before we made our way out of the library I heard Gabe yelling, “Atta boy,” Sarah laughing and Jade yelled, “So that’s what the kids are calling it these days? Dinner? Well, I hope you two have some really spicy, hot, dirty dinner!” and then she winked at us.

It’s never too late for a second chance at love.

Keiran McDermott has lived by one simple rule for over a hundred years: keep a safe distance from humans at all times. He knows from experience that close proximity to them can lead to disasters and more often than not, end up badly. But when the need to explore a nearby town places him directly in the path of a woman being stalked by two foul predators, the instinct to protect the young beauty from the men intent on causing her harm forces him to break his self-imposed law.

However, once she’s safely away from her attackers, Keiran finds himself locked in another battle. He knows his weakness can kill: it did so in the past. But how can he find the courage to stay away, when the image of her lovely face torments his mind?

When a new threat forces him to come to Celine’s aid again, will Keiran be able to fight temptation long enough to keep her alive and protected, even from himself?

Warning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains adult sexual situations and/or adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.

Excerpt:

When Keiran had first entered the room, he’d maintained his distance to assure himself he could control the lure her blood had on him. He managed to suppress his hunger quite well until she stood right in front of him, her body so near it took a great deal of effort to stand there and not reach out and touch her. His desire to step closer to her nearly overwhelmed him. But as they prepared to leave, the dried blood on her work uniform called out to him, and the hunger immediately caused his stomach to clench and knot. His nostrils flared as the scent of her blood invaded his senses, and he had to breathe slowly to calm his raging vampire urges.

Even with her essence playing havoc on his senses, Keiran knew he could not hurt Celine. He could not let himself develop any feelings for this beautiful mortal. This up close he had been able to confirm that she resembled that person from his past. So much so that he had dare to hope it was her, but quickly realized it could not be. Though their facial features were in fact similar, this was an entirely different woman but God help him, he felt trapped. He knew he should not be here with her, but could not find the strength to leave. If he ever hurt her, he would will himself to hell. He’d find a way to destroy himself. He could not continue to exist with another innocent victim added to his conscience.

Feeling momentarily in control of the demon within, Keiran opened his eyes and looked down at the silent beauty waiting for him to either speak or move.

Celine stared up at him with a mixture of fear and concern. Her eyes were like a mirror: they did little to hide what she truly felt, and Keiran could not help but feel guilty over triggering anxiety within her.

With a substantial amount of effort, Keiran walked passed Celine and opened the door, holding it open for her as his eyes assessed her bloodied uniform. If he had to keep looking at it, they would never make it anywhere safely. It was bad enough he could smell it, but having it as a badge waving in front of him seemed like the worst form of torture. He realized what he needed to do in order to do in order to ensure at least some safe ground between them. Taking his jacket off, he immediately offered it to her.

“It’s to cover up the blood splattered on your clothing,” he motioned with a finger, indicating the stain on the upper left corner.

Celine looked down and back at him. Smiling shyly, she took the garment from his hands and smiled. “Ah… thank you. That’s very nice of you.” she added quickly. “I’m ready to go now,”

Keiran nodded once before stepping aside to allow her passage through the open door. He followed after her, keeping up with her short strides while maintaining a safe distance from her body, so they would not touch. Not because he did not want to, but because he feared how a simple gesture like that would affect him. God only knew how much he really wanted to run his hands up and down her body. But he did not know how far he could go without actually hurting her. So far, it had cost him a great deal of pain and concentration to keep his body and hunger under control. And if they made any type of physical contact, he was certain his control might snap.

EXCERPT:

Cameron hadn’t watched me undress; he’d turned in his chair to face the wall opposite me, but he swung back to the front as soon as he heard my movement.

“How naked do you want me?” I asked when I reached the center platform. The stool pressed against the back of my thighs.

A light came into his eyes, his face. A smile teased his lips. “Just from the waist up.” As I was about to release the sheet, his mouth opened again. “But I want you to cover your nipples with the palms of your hands.”

I rested my forearm over both breasts while I slid the sheet down to my waist. Once it was tied and secured in place, I cupped my nipples in my palms. My skin was already warm, but it seemed to turn even hotter from his stare. I could feel his eyes on my body…especially the bulges under each hand.

“Yes,” he said, a small change in his tone. “That’s perfect. Now take a seat on the stool.”

I slowly followed his instructions, making sure the sheet didn’t fall.

“Turn sideways,” he said. “I want your profile.”

My feet moved to the metal bars on the stool and I pushed myself to the left, rotating in the direction I had faced before. My actions were shaky and my stomach was wracked with nerves. I didn’t know why. I had no problem getting naked at the mansion, strutting toward my clients in much less than I was wearing now. But in here, with Cameron, I begged for a mask.

“Feel like sharing your thoughts now?” he asked.

I arched my back a little, pushing my ass into the wooden seat. “My thoughts aren’t all that different than they were before.” I wanted to see his expression, but my moving could have messed up his work.

“You wouldn’t tell me what they were before.”

I laughed. “I still won’t.”

I felt the change in the air as he approached me. I held in my breath, waiting to find out why he had gotten so close.

“I realize you can’t move your hands, but the sheet is sticking up in the back. Can I tuck it in for you?”

My eyes held his, and I nodded.

His shirt brushed past my bare arm as he moved to my side, and then the small of my back. Gently, he folded the sheet into me. His skin was as warm as mine.

“Anything else you want while I’m up here?”

He was in front of me again, his hands in his pockets. His stance wasn’t casual, and neither was the look on his face.

I shook my head, even though there were so many things I could have asked for…so many things I wanted from him. But silence was the safest answer.

“Then hold still,” he said, heading back to his canvas. “I need to finish the outline of your body.”

He didn’t say the word body any differently than anyone else. It just sounded sexier coming out of Cameron’s lips.

Rose Wynters delivers something completely unique in the romance world (at least as far as anything I have ever read or heard of) an erotic romance with a Christian good vs evil theme. This is the second book in The Endurers series but can be read as a stand alone novel.

An Endurer is someone who was once mortal but made immortal in order to be warriors against demons and evil. Vincent is an Endurer and has been cursed by a powerful demon called Veronique to never find happiness with his soul mate, he has watched two soul mates perish and wants to die instead he is put in stasis for 200 years only to be awakened in the present day with a strange woman living in his house.

Scarlett has seen enough tragedy in her young life when she has to sit with her fiance as watch as he dies from cancer. When her fiance's family blames her and makes her feel miserable she decides to move on with her life by moving to New Orleans. When she finds an amazing deal on a house in the Garden District she snatches it up right away. Little does she know she is in great danger from the evil that is around her and that she has an Endurer warrior living hidden in her house.

Curvaceous Condemnation is part erotic romance, part christian romance however it isn't really preachy it is more of a have faith and God will provide. The erotic romance portion of this hot and spicy and in it we get to see the growth of Scarlett's self esteem and her acceptance of her curves.

EXCERPT:
“Veronique? They have names?”

“Yes, but don’t ever use their names. Ever. When a human uses their name, it makes them more powerful. It’s almost like worship to them, and worship gives them strength. An Endurer has protection against this, but you don’t. Never speak it, even if you know it.”

“Okay,” she replied. “You won’t have to tell me twice. How do you know her name?”

It was a question he had no intention of answering, at least not now. He wanted to bed her, badly. The last thing he needed to mention was women had died because of him. Somehow, he didn’t think that would help his cause. “It doesn’t matter. What does matter is freeing you from the curse.”

She remembered her parents and gasped, eyes widening with horror. “My mom and dad are coming for an overnight visit Saturday. What am I going to do?”

“Try to cancel. If you can’t, we’ll work around it. Who knows? Maybe we will have the curse broke by then.” He doubted it, but kept his doubts to himself. Where was Arch when you really needed him?

“I’m going to call a priest in to bless the house. Maybe he can shed some light on the situation,” Vincent continued gruffly. He was going to keep a better eye on her from here on out, no more midnight raids on her refrigerator unless she was with him.

His stomach rumbled at the thought of her cooking. The woman could cook like nobody’s business, and the leftovers were heavenly. His metabolism was extremely high due to the constant renewing of his body, and it gave him an extraordinarily high appetite.

The sound drew her attention, and she stared at him as he blushed in embarrassment. “Nice to know you really are human,” she said with a small smile. “At least now I know what’s been happening to my leftovers.”

“Sorry,” he replied sheepishly. “They were delicious.”

She felt strangely pleased that he liked her cooking. It was flattering. She was sure in his lifetime he’d had all types of food, but he enjoyed hers. “Well then, I guess I’ll be going to the store more often,” she said smiling, feeling the blush spreading across her cheeks.

Her arms began to ache, and she looked down to see what was wrong. In the light, she could see the dark purple bruises marring the paleness of her skin. They seemed to worsen by the minute.

He saw them too and growled. Moving quickly, he knelt in the floor in front of her, noting each and every purple spot. “The demon hurt you,” he said softly, but she could hear the anger in his tone. “For that, he will painfully die.”

Suddenly his mood changed. Slowly, he raised his head, his heated eyes meeting her dazed ones. He held her gaze for a moment before leaning forward and kissing each bruise.

He took his slow, sweet time, his firm lips highly erotic against her skin. She groaned softly at the tantalizing sweep of his tongue against each one. Her nipples beaded underneath the thin material of her nightgown in reaction.

His eyes glittered when he saw the visible response of her body to his mouth. The very air was charged with an erotic energy that singed both of them with its intensity. Her body grew hot with a burning need that demanded to be fulfilled.

He could sense it with his supernatural senses. He gave her a smile full of sexual promise. “I want to make love with you, Scarlett. Will you allow me?”
