A dark and edgy romance that will appeal to fans of erotic and turbulent relationships . . .
In the near future, the Krinar rule the Earth. An advanced race from another galaxy, they are still a mystery to us – and we are completely at their mercy.
Shy and innocent, Mia Stalis is a college student in New York City who has led a very normal life. Like most people, she’s never had any interactions with the invaders – until one fateful day in the park changes everything. Having caught Korum’s eye, she must now contend with a powerful, dangerously seductive Krinar who wants to possess her and will stop at nothing to make her his own.
How far would you go to regain your freedom? How much would you sacrifice to help your people? What choice will you make when you begin to fall for your enemy?
What would really happen if aliens invade the Earth? Well according to Anna Zaires and her novel Close Liaisons, The Krinar Chronicles book #1, it wont be anything like the end of the world. Ms. Zaires pictures and end to bacon and french fries (which might as well be the end of the world) and an increase in whole grain bread consumption but no grand battles and no UFO blowing up the White House.
Close Liaisons takes place 5 years after K Day the day the Krinar make themselves known to the people of Earth. Korum is a powerful and influential member of the Krinar and the day he meets Mia, a philology student at NYU, in Central Park both of their lives change forever.
We have a rather intriguing tale of lust, hate, powerful sex, spying, deception, love, and power. A sci-fi tale with just a twist of paranormal, the sex is at times bordering on dubious consent but is plentiful and powerful for both Mia and Korum. I like my sci-fi with a little less environmental/vegetarian preaching but the story is very well written the descriptiveness and the world building post K day is all amazing.
We are left with a lot unanswered and I am thrilled to have the next book in the series, Close Obsession, to be read and reviewed in the not to distant future.
About this author:
Anna Zaires fell in love with books at the age of five, when her grandmother taught her to read. She wrote her first story shortly thereafter. Since then, she has always lived partially in a fantasy world where the only limits were those of her imagination. Currently residing in New York City, Anna is happily married to the man of her dreams and closely collaborates with him in the writing of the Krinar Chronicles.
