My favorite part of St Patrick's day is the mint drinks. It is also my grandmother's birthday so we get to celebrate that as well.

My husband and I are both of Irish descent. My daughter is an Irish step dancer. Watching her dance (she always has some performance on St. Paddy's Day - 3 this weekend) is my favorite St. Patrick's Day tradition.

We have ham and cabbage, but we spend the day working to draw attention to current day slavery. My kids host workshops/group gatherings at youth groups to help bring attention to the fact that we have teens in our country that are being used as sexual slaves.

When I was little we used to do a few things like corn beef and cabbage (which I'm kind of really glad we don't do now because I don't really like that one) but we don't do much now. We do wear green and this year will be going to my one and only sisters house for a bit of a feastf ro the first time. Should be fun. Also if there are any parades on TV I like to watch those. Generally it's too cold to find them out in the really real world but on TV works!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to enter :D Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone :)

We have great corned beef and sandwiches and chill. Not big on the whole parade and hoopla. Definitely wearing green though…don’t want to get pinched…although a spanking would be a different story!

I always wear something green on the day. This year I did green polish on my nails(had no clean green clothes). Used to do the parade in town every year, but the town stopped doing that a couple years ago due to lack of funds. :(

What a great giveaway hop! I have yet to be lucky in love but I'm working on it. My favorite love book is "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie Fraser is amazing and beautiful. I enjoy St. Patty's Day and this year I'm spending it with my best friend. We're going to two Irish Pubs and also some dance clubs. I am also wearing green and am not a fan of getting pinched. I'm not Irish either, but many people think I am because my hair is red, my eyes green and my name is Meghan, but I'm not at all. I won't be telling anybody that, however… let them believe I'm Irish.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
